OxygenOS 11.1.5.5 and 11.0.6.6 updates are now available for the OnePlus Nord and OnePlus CE 5G, respectively. Both smartphones will also receive an Android security patch update – August 2021 for the OnePlus Nord and July 2021 for the OnePlus Nord CE 5G. New features, bug fixes, and optimizations are also included in the updates for OnePlus’ two pocket-friendly devices. The updates will be released in stages, as is the case with most OnePlus handset updates.

With the OxygenOS 11.1.5.5 update for the OnePlus Nord, OnePlus is improving the always-on display (AOD). Users will be able to capture screenshots of their AOD for the first time. Users will also receive the Bitmoji AOD, which was developed in collaboration with Snapchat. It adds the users’ Bitmoji avatar to AOD, which is changed throughout the day based on the users’ activities and surroundings. Go to Settings > Customization > Clock on ambient display > Bitmoji to turn it on.

OnePlus Nord, OnePlus Nord CE 5G OxygenOS Update Changelog
The OnePlus Nord CE 5G now has improved system performance, as well as the June 2021 Google mobile services (GMS) update and better camera effects.
For the Indian, European, and North American markets, the firmware versions for the update are 11.1.5.5.AC01DA, 11.1.5.5.AC01BA, and 11.1.5.5.AC01AA, respectively. The firmware versions for the OnePlus Nord CE 5G in India, Europe, and North America are 11.0.6.6.EB13DA, 11.0.6.6EB13BA, and 11.0.6.6.EB13AA.

The August 2021 Android security patch is included in the update for the OnePlus Nord, while the July 2021 Android security patch is included for the OnePlus Nord CE 5G. The size of the updates has not yet been specified. Users should fully charge their devices and connect to a strong Wi-Fi connection before updating their OnePlus smartphones.
OnePlus will push out the updates in stages, as usual. All eligible smartphones should receive the update automatically over the air. Go to Settings > System > System updates to manually check for the update.
