OnePlus Nord 2 5G Surfaces on AI Benchmark Database, Tips Key Specs

OnePlus is focusing on its Nord series to enhance its mid-range segment presence lately. Just this month, the brand launched Nord CE 5G in India, and Nord N10 5G introduced globally earlier. However, none of these new launches is a direct successor to the OG Nord that launched last year. Although now rumors of OnePlus Nord 2 5G are surfacing online hinting at an imminent launch.

Ahead of the launch, the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 5G has now surfaced on the AI benchmark website revealing key specifications of the device. Moreover, leaks have hinted that this device will be the first to power on a MediaTek Dimensity processor. Meanwhile, other leaks suggest that this will be a rebadged Realme X9 Pro. Let us take a look at the specifications revealed via the AI benchmark website.

OnePlus Nord 2 5G to power on MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor

Nord 2 visited the AI benchmark website earlier this morning revealing the presence of a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. Furthermore, it revealed that the Nord 2 will have an 8GB RAM variant. It will also run on Android 11. To compare, the listing also suggests that OnePlus Nord 2 has better AI performance than the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (12GB) and Samsung Galaxy S21+ (8GB) with Exynos 2100 SoCs. In addition, it scores below Samsung Galaxy S21+ (8GB) and Samsung Galaxy S21 (8GB) with Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC.

Leaks

The upcoming OnePlus phone will run on MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, improved cameras, display, and battery.

Furthermore, OnePlus Nord 2 will probably feature a 64MP main camera inside a quad-camera system. The Dimensity 1200 chipset is built on a 6nm node and features Cortex A78 and A55 cores. It will have a faster Fluid AMOLED display with a refresh of 120Hz instead of the 90Hz on the original Nord.  Similarly, faster Warp 30T charging is expected on OnePlus Nord 2 as well. 

Earlier, the brand also accidentally posted the Nord 2 moniker on the official website for the US, confirming its existence. According to tipster Mukul Sharma said Nord 2 launch in India will happen in July. OnePlus Nord 2 launch is on the cards considering the evidence. Now compared to Nord CE 5G, the upcoming Nord 2 will have upgraded specifications and better features. Also, Nord 2 has also been certified on the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) platform, confirming Nord 2 India availability.
