OnePlus is known for bringing a revolution in the flagship series of the smartphone in India. Lately, the Nord series is one of the major focuses for the company. The brand launched several phones under it worldwide. Out of these, just 3 devices saw the daylight in India. The OnePlus Nord, Nord CE 5G, and Nord 2 launched with initial prices under Rs 30,000.
OnePlus is now trying to grab the under-Rs 20,000 segment in India. OnePlus X targeted the very same market. However, it failed to leave a mark in the said segment and discontinued the series. Now once more, seeing the huge market potential, Oneplus is planning to introduce a Nord series phone specifically for the market.

OnePlus Nord Series Probable in Under-20,000 Range
According to reports, OnePlus is shifting its strategy in India towards launching a few phones under Rs 20,000 in India. While an exact launch date is unknown, it is likely that the phones will be launched in the next quarter i.e October to December. It also might be the case that the phones might be unveiled in Q2 2022.
There is no confirmation in terms of features for the upcoming device in the sub-Rs 20,000 from OnePlus. The company, however, sells Nord N200 5G under Rs 20,000 exclusively in the US market. But it seems highly unlikely that the same model would be launched in India.

OnePlus will face severe competition in the Indian market for this particular range. Chinese Smartphone manufacturers like Realme and Xiaomi dominate the Indian market in the budget and mid-range segment in India. Oppo, recently brought together with the brand in context, also has a stake in the very same range group. Future might see affordable Oppo phones under the OnePlus branding, depending on the dynamics and the relationship between the two brands. It is important to note that both, OnePlus and Oppo already share the ColorOS codebase.
