At the beginning of July, OnePlus released the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 1 update for the OnePlus 6 & OnePlus 6T. The update was released earlier than expected. A few weeks later, these devices received a stable upgrade as well. After a week, the smartphones started receiving the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 2 update. There are no new features in the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 2 update for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. Instead, only optimizations, improvements, fixes, and enhancements are included.

The latest public beta build for the OnePlus 6/6T comes with optimizations for overheating control management of third-party apps, improvements for system stability, and fixes some known issues, including an issue with screenshot images not saving, according to the official announcement post on OnePlus Community. Last but not least, the new software update improves 5GHz WiFi connectivity. Users who have already installed the last Open Beta build will receive this update via OTA. Others can get it from the OnePlus Community and install it manually.

OxygenOS 11 OPEN BETA 2 FOR ONEPLUS 6 / 6T Changelog

To get back to the matter, there are no new features in the new OxygenOS 11 Open Beta 2 release. However, it focuses on resolving issues that surfaced in the initial beta. It resolves the issue with the system’s inability to save screenshots. In addition, the company enhances overall system stability and optimises overheating control management. The new update also improves the 5 GHz Wi-Fi network connectivity.

Anyone with the System Image can join the beta channel because the status is Open Beta. You’ll be eligible for future OxygenOS 11 beta updates after you manually flash the beta build. In the best-case scenario, these devices will receive a stable release before the end of the year. Keep in mind that the beta updates aren’t for individuals who still use the device on a daily basis.
