Nintendo Switch 2 Specifications Leak, Won’t Have This Major Upgrade

Nintendo Switch remains one of the best-selling handheld consoles in recent years. The company has confirmed it is working on the Nintendo Switch 2, and a new leak has revealed significant details about it. Switch 2 will arrive next year, and you need to know everything about it.

Nintendo Switch 2 Design And Specifications Leak

The Nintendo Switch 2 will arrive early next year in three colours: Gray, White and MK9. Launching in January 2025, it will debut with Mario Kart 9 as the launch title.

The Switch 2 will have a familiar design with magnetic joycons and hall effect sticks. The game carts, however, will remain the same as the original Switch.

A major disappointment, however, is the display. The leak reveals the Nintendo Switch 2 will ship with an LCD panel instead of an OLED one. Fans have been hoping for an OLED screen after the release of the Nintendo Switch OLED.

Recently, dBrand posted an image of the Switch 2 teasing its skins for the handheld console. The company’s CEO also confirmed that the image is based on a 3D Nintendo Switch 2 hardware scan.

The console will have a U-shaped kickstand and be lighter than the Steam Deck. Furthermore, it will have larger ZL and ZR buttons with magnetic joycons that make a clicking sound.

A recent post by Reddit user NextHandheld has spilled the beans of the Nintendo Switch 2. The moderator of the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit has also confirmed the leak is legitimate, but he cannot disclose it as it might expose his real identity.

We can expect more details about the Nintendo Switch 2 in January or early February when Nintendo hosts its investor meeting on February 4, 2025.
