We are only days away from Apple’s “California Streaming” launch event on September 14, 2021. The company is planning to implement significant changes to its products. Apple might be getting ready to introduce a new version of the iPhone MagSafe charger soon. This piece of information comes from a new FCC filing from Apple. Moreover, it may indicate an update to the company’s MagSafe lineup of accessories coming along with the new iPhone.

Apple Might Be Working on New MagSafe Charger and Accessories for iPhone 13
According to Dave Zatz, the new MagSafe charger surfaced in the FCC filming holds the model number A2548. Whereas, the one introduced alongside the iPhone 12 series is model A2140 (via 9to5mac). Interestingly, the test unit of the new charger was sent to the FCC by Apple on August 13, 2021, which is less than a month ago.

Although the company is famous for updating model numbers for its accessories due to small changes. Sometimes these changes are even hard to notice to visible eyes. However, a report from July suggested that the iPhone 13 series might come with larger wireless charging coil and strong magnets with possible support for reverse wireless charging.
Meanwhile, FCC has tested the new MagSafe Charger with eight different iPhone models. It shows 4 iPhone models A2341, A2172, A2176, and A2342 as “Legacy Phone,” all iPhone 12 models. Whereas, the charger was also tested with four unidentified “New Phone” units. This could be possibly the four new iPhone 13 models.

On the other hand, previous rumours suggest that the iPhone 13 lineup will feature stronger magnets for the MagSafe charger technology. It is likely that new MagSafe accessories could be able to take advantage of these new magnets. We will know more about it as new leaks and rumours pour in as its launch inches closer.
