Everything in our lives deserves a place in history. Now, a new online museum will allow users to relive the history of mobile phones dating back to 1984. The Mobile Phone Museum is an online experience by Ben Wood, a Chief Analyst at CCS Insight. This unique museum first opened virtually on November 23, 2021. This venture is a collaboration with collector Matt Chatterley. It brings to us a lot of legendary devices from Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Alcatel, and some lesser-known brands, but also some newer phones like One Plus.
“This all started as a passion project over 25 years ago, so it’s immensely exciting to work with Vodafone to launch the Mobile Phone museum. We will be able to see so many industry veterans and other friendly faces at the exhibition. None of this would have been possible without the extraordinary generosity and effort of a handful of eager volunteers, donors and sponsors, so I want to thank them sincerely for their contributions.”

According to the museum’s website, it is a charitable organization and contains legendary devices like the Nokia 3310, Moto Razr V3, Volvo Talkman, and many more. It also has more modern devices, like the Nokia Lumia 1020, a phone that failed. But it is considered by many to have revolutionized smartphone cameras. The Motorola Satellite series, which is considered to be amongst the first mobile phones ever, is also included in the catalogue. The founders also plan to hold exhibitions for the museum later.
