Apple just last week launched the MacBook Pro series in a virtual event. It launched with the latest version of M1 chips. But now, it looks like the next-generation MacBook Air will borrow several features from the MacBook Pro models according to a new leak. Although the latest launch from Apple with the Pro series coming with a notch in its design has the audience divided. It is either in favour or against it. But from what we are starting to hear on the next models is also quite interesting.
Rumoured 2022 MacBook Air to Come in a Thinner Design
According to leaker Dylandkt, the new MacBook Air models will look quite similar to the MacBook Pro but in a thinner and lighter body. The bezels and keyboard on the Air will feature an off-white colour. But it will be available in multiple colour options like the 24-inch iMac. Apple also launched the new iMac earlier this year in green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue and silver. The keyboard is also said to feature full-sized keys. There are chances that we might also see a 1080p webcam on the Air.

However, it looks like MacBook Air will lack some features though. These could be no Face ID, no SD card slot, no HDMI port, and no fans. Meanwhile, tipster couldn’t confirm if Apple will continue with the notch design that it debuted on the MacBook Pro. However, it may come with USB-C ports, a 30W adapter and it will support MagSafe charging. Apple will also offer a binned option under the configuration options. It looks like MacBook will support at least two external displays. Apple is also expected to debut the M2 chip with this MacBook model.

Lastly, the leaker also suggested that the 2022 MacBook Air will feature Apple’s M2 chip which will offer enhanced performance compared to the current M1 chip. However, the performance will not compete against the recently unveiled M1 Pro and M1 Max because it will be oriented towards low-power devices. The 2022 MacBook Air is also stated to feature the new MagSafe technology and will come with a 30W power adapter. On the other hand, the mini-LED display might be a possibility, the ProMotion display is highly unlikely. Moreover, Apple could allegedly rename the Air as “MacBook.”
