The iQOO 8 series of smartphones are continuously surfacing online every now and then. Although, the series went official in China back in August 2021. It is only recently, we got to know that the iQOO 8 Pro received its Indian BIS certification. This unveiled that the India launch of the device is indeed imminent. However, a fresh leak suggests otherwise. It now seems the series might end up cancelled.
According to tipster Debayan Roy on Twitter, the iQOO 8 series India launch is reportedly not happening. However, the source has not provided us with any reason for the cancellation. Meaning, we cannot really say for sure what the reason could be. If this turns out to be true, this means many will be left waiting for the upcoming iQOO 9 series of smartphones. The iQOO 9 lineup, in any case, is not too far away from now. If previous reports are true, the iQOO 9 series launch in India can happen in January 2022. However, one should note the company has not confirmed the news or hinted at any such thing as of yet. So, many fans and lovers of iQOO smartphones can cross their fingers and hope for the best.

iQOO 8 Series Specs
The Chinese version of iQOO 8 has a 6.56-inch AMOLED FHD+ and comes with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powering on Snapdragon 888 chipset and comes with up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. On the camera side, the device is featuring a 16-megapixel front camera and comes with 50-megapixel + 13-megapixel+ 13-megapixel triple camera setup. The device is also powered by a 4,350mAh battery and supports 120W fast charging.

However, on the other hand, the iQOO 8 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED QHD+ with a 120Hz refresh rate and curved edges. The device is powered by Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset and comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage options. In the camera section, we have a 16-megapixel front camera. whereas in the rear section we have a 50-megapixel main camera, a 16-megapixel telephoto lens, 48-megapixel ultrawide angle lens. The device also comes with a 4,500mAh battery and support fast charging up to 120W.
