The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus models will get minor upgrades in camera wherein they will retain the 48-megapixel main sensor, but there will be an jump in the aperture from f/2.4 to f/2.2 in the ultrawide camera. They will also get macro photography support.
The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models will get great camera upgrades, especially its ultrawide camera. It is speculated to increase from 12-megapixel to 48-megapixel. The camera will also use pixel binning to click pictures.
Another major leak suggests that Apple will bring in a new photo format this year – JPEG-XL and the Pro models will support 3K video recording at 120fps with Dolby Vision.

All the four iPhone 16 models will have the Capture Button, which will be exclusive for only the camera apps (both Apple’s and third party’s). It is expected to be force-sensitive half press as it will enable taking a focus or locking exposure before clicking the photo.
