What to Expect from the iPhone 16 Series
  • Apple is about to announce the new iPhone 16 models in 2 days from today i.e on 9th September 2024. The upcoming Apple iPhone 16 Pro will reportedly have new capture button and also will be able to shoot slow-motion videos at 120fps in 4K resolution. This will be great for capturing fast movement. The report also says that Apple will improve the Ultra Wide camera on the Pro models, upgrading it to a 48MP sensor. Read more details about the iPhone 16 Pro Capture button below.

Sources confirm the iPhone 16 Pro will have some exciting camera upgrades. Both the 16 Pro and Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max will have a new 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Both models will also have a tetraprism lens for 5x optical zoom, a feature that was only in the Pro Max before.

For video, the iPhone 16 Pro will record in 4K at 120 frames per second (fps). The Apple iPhone 15 could only do 4K at 60fps. When using external storage, users can shoot ProRes 4K at 120fps. QuickTake video will also upgrade from 1080p to 4K.

Apple has tested 8K video recording with the iPhone 16 Pro. Since 8K images are 35 megapixels, both the wide and ultra-wide cameras can handle it. However, it’s unclear if Apple will include 8K video this year. The zoom lens can only do 4K, so 8K might come in the next iPhone models.

Other new features include support for JPEG-XL format, a pause-and-resume option for video recording, better removal of wind noise in videos, and new Photographic Styles. There will also be a new mode for capturing 3D Spatial Photos for Apple Vision Pro.

The iPhone 16 models will have a new capture button. This button can do different actions based on how you press it. A light press will open the Camera app or a third-party camera app. A soft press will focus the camera, and a hard press will take a photo or start a video. You can also slide your finger across the button to zoom or adjust exposure.
