According to recent reports, the upcoming Apple iPhone 15 Pro may have a frame made of titanium and a rounded back. The material costs more than stainless steel, which is used in the brand’s most recent and currently available “Pro” models.
Apple was reputed to want to switch the Apple Watch to strong state fastens quite a long while prior. However, the change never occurred. It was said at the time that solid-state buttons would be more resistant to water and take up less internal space. However, it is unclear if this would be the case for the iPhone because it would need enough space for two more Taptic Engines.

Will the iPhones still have mechanical buttons?
However, mechanical buttons are still expected to be included in the base iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at Apple, stated a month ago that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro models would include integrated solid-state volume and power buttons.

In addition to removing physical buttons from its iPhone 15 series, Apple may plan to implement yet another significant modification. Phonearena reports that the company is working on a display technology that aims to eliminate physical buttons from Apple devices.
The company intends to design dedicated surfaces for iPhones as an alternative to the actual buttons. It will not be visible under normal circumstances. Micro-perforations will be present on these undetectable surfaces, allowing light to pass through them.
