At the WWDC 2022 keynote on Monday, Apple announced iPadOS 16 as the new software upgrade for the iPad. The new iPadOS version includes a revised multitasking experience that is intended to boost productivity. It allows you to overlay app windows in the same way that you can on a Mac or Windows machine. iPadOS 16 features enhancements such as Live Text and improved Messages for iPad users, similar to iOS 16.

iPadOS 16 Availability
Apple has delivered iPad to developers who are members of the Apple Developer Program first. Next month, customers will be able to participate in a public test of the upcoming iPadOS update. iPadOS 16 will also be available as a free software upgrade this autumn for the iPad (5th generation and later), iPad mini (5th generation and later), iPad Air (3rd generation and later), and all iPad Pro devices.
Features
Apple has released Stage Manager, a new multitasking interface for iPad that is also available on Mac machines with macOS 13 Ventura, to continue to bridge the gap between the MacBook and iPad. It allows users to run multiple iPad apps at the same time by overlaying them one on top of the other.

The experience gets even more immersive when you connect your iPad to an external display. This is an enhancement on the present user interface, which allows users to view programmes in full-screen mode, similar to that on an iPhone, or in Split View, which allows users to utilise two apps simultaneously. Slide Over is also available, which allows you to slide an app over from the side.
On the iPadOS 16 upgrade, users will be able to resize app windows in the same way they can on a Mac or a Windows laptop. However, this feature is only available on iPads with the M1 processor. You won’t be able to enjoy the new experience until you have the latest iPad Air or iPad Pro.
