Immersion Corporation has filed a lawsuit against Meta Platforms Inc., alleging that the more significant business violated its patents while building the industry-leading virtual reality headset developed by Meta Platforms.
According to Immersion, a lawsuit was filed on Thursday in federal court in Waco, Texas. The market-dominating product, The Meta Quest 2, violates six patents that encompass haptic technology. Haptics enables users of video game systems and controllers to feel sensations. One that simulates real-life forces, such as when stopping a punch in a virtual boxing game. As a result, haptics is there in use in the video game industry.
