Honor has announced their Honor 50 series of smartphones in China. The Honor UK Twitter account tweeted by saying that, “We did it! In 221 dedicated days we’ve independently come out with the #HONOR50Series. Shanghai has seen it. Now it’s time for the rest of the world.” This also hints at the global launch of the series being right around the corner.
The Honor 50 series consists of two smartphones, the Honor 50 5G, 50 SE and 50 Pro 5G. The official China launch of the devices have revealed key details about the pricing and specifications of the two smartphones. Moreover, with this series, the company makes a comeback. The tweet reveals that it took the company 211 days to make this possible. This is definitely a matter of great news from the company’s side of things. Additionally, the good news is that these two smartphones will be the first ones to come with Google support since the company’s dispute with the US.
Pricing & Availability
The Honor 50 Pro price in China is set at 3,699 yuan for the 8GB/256GB variant. This converts to roughly Rs. 42,000 in India. Furthermore, the 12GB/256GB variant comes with a price tag of 3,999 yuan which is roughly Rs. 45,000.
On the other hand, the vanilla Honor 50 comes with a price tag of 2,699 yuan for the 8GB/128GB variant. This converts to roughly Rs. 30,000. Moreover, the price of the 8GB/256GB variant is set at 2,999 yuan which is roughly Rs. 34,000. Additionally, the 12GB/256GB is priced at 3,399 yuan which is roughly Rs. 38,000.

Lastly, the Honor 50 SE price in China starts from 2,399 yuan for the base variant of 8GB/128GB. Honor also revealed that the smartphone series will come to over 30 countries. However, since India is not mentioned in that list, it is hard to say anything. Probably the smartphone will not come to India at all. Nothing can be confirmed as of now.
Honor 50 Pro 5G Specifications
The most premium offering in the series, the Honor 50 Pro 5G features a large 6.72-inches full-HD+ display. Moreover, the display is a curved OLED panel with a fast refresh rate of 120Hz. On the processor front, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC. The octa-core chipset is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
For photos and videos, the Honor 50 Pro 5G features a quad rear camera setup. The setup includes a 108-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HM2 sensor alongside an 8-megapixel secondary ultra-wide sensor. Additionally, there are two 2-megapixel sensors for depth effects and macro takes. On the front, the smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup for selfies and video calls. The setup includes a 32-megapixel primary sensor alongside a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor with a 100-degree FOV.

Lastly, the Honor 50 Pro 5G packs a decent 4000mAh battery along with a whopping 100W fast charging support. Moreover, the company claims that this charges the devices fully in 25 minutes.
Honor 50 5G and 50 SE Specifications
The Honor 50 5G is a slightly toned-down version of the 50 Pro 5G. Almost everything is similar in terms of specifications in the two devices. However, the 50 5G comes with a smaller 6.57-inch full-HD+ OLED display. Moreover, they come with the same camera setups as well. However, the vanilla Honor 50 5G comes with a single 32-megapixel selfie shooter instead of the dual front camera setup in the 50 Pro 5G. Additionally, it comes with the same Snapdragon 778G SoC.
There is a difference in the battery and charging specifications of the devices as well. The Honor 50 5G pacjs a larger 4,300mAh battery with a slower 66W fast charging support. The company claims that this brick can charge the device fully in 45 minutes.
On the other hand, the Honor 50 SE features a 6.78-inch full HD+ LCD panel. Additionally, the smartphone comes with a fast refresh rate of 120Hz as well. On the processor front, the smartphone comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC. This is where there lies a difference between the 50 SE and the other two models in the series. Like the other models, the 50 SE runs on Android 11 right out of the box with the Magic UI 4.2 custom skin on top.

For photos and videos, the 50 SE features a triple rear camera setup instead of the quad rear cameras in the other two phones. The setup includes a 100-megapixel primary sensor alongside an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
