Here’s When the First Dimensity 9000 Powered Smartphone Could Launch!

  • MediaTek has been dominating the mobile processor space ever since they unveiled their Dimensity 9000 SoC last week. Next week, Qualcomm is all set to launch their Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. In other words, this is the much anticipated Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 SoC. Both the chipsets have been in the rumour mill for so long and it is great to finally witness the official launch of these chipsets.

    Now, a new report by MyDrivers has surfaced online which suggests the launch timeline of a smartphone carrying the MediaTek Dimensity 9000. This will be the first ever smartphone to be powered by the Dimensity 9000 and is expected to go official next year. To be specific, the device will launch sometime in February, 2022.

    Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 12 will be launching in China on December 12, 2021. This is expected to be the first smartphone to carry the upcoming Snapdragon 898 chipset. Another report suggests that the upcoming Redmi K50 Gaming series of smartphones could feature the brand new MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset.

    The MediaTek Dimensity 9000 is the very first mobile processor in the word to be based on the 4nm process. This chipset is based on the brand new ARM v9 architecture with a 1+3+4 cluster. The processor sports a prime X2 core that is clocked at 3.05GHz alongside three Cortex-A710 cores that are clocked at 2.85GHz. These are performance cores and four efficiency cores have been clocked at 1.8GHz. In addition, the flagship chipset pairs up with the Mali-710, which is a 10-core GPU.

    In terms of specs, the Dimensity 9000 can offer up to 180Hz refresh rate support on full-HD+ resolution. We get to see support for up to 320-megapixel primary sensor. The SoC brings 4K HDR video recording to the table alongside 8K video recording 30 fps.

    Talking about connectivity options, the chipset brings Bluetooth v5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E 2×2 support. Another feature that makes the chipset standout is its ability to reach a maximum download speed of a staggering 7Gbps on a sub-6GHz 5G network. It is the very first chipset in the world that is able to do so.

    All-in-all, from the looks of it, a smartphone being powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC will definitely take the smartphone experience to a whole new level.
