Google Pixel 5a is expecting to arrive in the coming week, considering the rumours. However, there’s not a lot of clarity around the details that have surfaced online. We know that Pixel is always aiming to deliver high-quality smartphone photography, using machine learning algorithms to enrich images. Although without this distinctive feature, it is grasping to ensure profitability in the smartphone business.

Leaks have suggested that the smartphone would launch in August this year just like its’ predecessor. A recent leak from FCC brings more to the table to have a discussion on. Let us look at what we know of the Google Pixel 5a 5G in terms of specifications:

According to the recent FCC listing, it hints at an imminent launch. This information comes from Twitter user cstark27, he reveals the device sports three model numbers – G1F8F, G4S1M, and GR0M2. Moreover, all of these three models have similar specs. However, one model is for the North American market, whereas others are for the rest of the world.
Meanwhile, earlier leaks from Onleaks showed us the earliest and the best look we have had of the smartphone. The renders of the Google Pixel 5a 5G looks similar to the Pixel 4a 5G. Apparently, the dimensions are also quite similar at 156.2 x 73.2 x 8.8mm. Moreover, it looks like the material used for the Pixel 4a series will be used again this time.

In terms of camera, it looks like Google Pixel 5a will feature a square camera module with dual rear cameras. In addition, it will also have a capacitive fingerprint scanner on the back. Whereas, it gets a punch-hole display with minimal bezels on the front. According to 9to5Google, the Pixel 5a will come with a smaller punch hole. It is expected to be a 55-pixel radius punch-hole instead of the usual 65-pixel radius as seen on previous Pixels.
Furthermore, Google Pixel 5a will sport a 6.2-inch OLED display from the Pixel 4a 5G. The display is expected to have a Full HD+ resolution and a hole punch cutout towards the top-left corner. Many are hoping the Google Pixel 5a’s display will have a 90Hz refresh rate. If it does happen, it would be an upgrade over the 60Hz display on the Pixel 4a and the Pixel 4a 5G. As with the earlier devices, this is a flat display with no curves around the display.

On the other hand, the device will power by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G SoC. We are guessing the smartphone will ship with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. There are chances that Google Pixel 5a may sport a 4000mAh battery with support for slightly faster-wired charging. Also, the device will not get support for wireless charging.
