Google is all set to launch its Google Pixel Tablet this year. Initial reports suggested that the tablet would have a standard as well as a Pro version. However, Android researcher and notable tipster, Kuba Wojciechowski reveal that the brand will unveil only one version of the tablet meaning that its Pro version has been cancelled.
According to the tipster, Google was reportedly working on a Pixel Tablet “tangor” (T6) with a first-generation Tensor chip and a “tangorpro” powered by a Tensor G2 chipset. However, the brand will not launch the Pro variant, as per recent reports. Moreover, the tipster also revealed some key specifications and images of the upcoming tablet. Specifications (Expected)
Citing an anonymous source, the tipster suggests that the upcoming tablet will offer 8 GB of Samsung LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of Kioxia UFS storage. Moreover, it will come with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Furthermore, its display can support a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and will come with an 11-inch display with support for Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. Additionally, it will come with an RT4539 LED driver. The RT4539 is a 6-channel LED driver used for driving the backlight layer on LCDs. Moreover, the tablet will come with a Tensor G2 chipset.
The tipster further reveals that Google will offer two kinds of docks for the upcoming tablet. One will feature the speaker whereas the other will support charging by default. Moreover, sources suggest that the tablet may be available in two storage variants- 128GB and 256 GB. The brand claims that it will be a hybrid device which will merge traditional tablets with smart displays such as the Amazon Echo Show series.
