Google Pixel 9 Renders Leak, Will Skip Out On This Major Feature

Google will launch its flagship Pixel 9 series of smartphones later this year. The renders for the Google Pixel 9 and Google Pixel 9 Pro leaked in January, but now there is a twist to the story. Tipster OnLeaks claims these devices were the Google Pixel 9 Pro and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL. This marks the return of the XL lineup for the first time after four years on the Google Pixel 4 series. Furthermore, the tipster also shared the first look at the Google Pixel 9, offering us a glimpse of its design.

Google Pixel 9 Renders Revealed, Will Not Include Periscope Lens

A report by 91Mobiles, in collaboration with OnLeaks, has shared the renders of the upcoming Google Pixel 9. The phone has rounded corners with a large camera visor on the back.

It will offer a similar design to the Google Pixel 9 Pro but will have only two cameras instead of three. Furthermore, the renders reveal the Google Pixel 9 will miss out on the periscope sensor found on its elder sibling.

The Pixel 9 will also have a flat display with volume and a power button present on the right. It will boast a 6.1-inch display with a centre punch hole cutout and flat metallic frames.

In addition, the phone will measure 152.8 x 71.9 x 8.5mm, with the camera bump having a width of 12mm alone. Moreover, the phone will be available in Black, among other options.

Google is likely to position the Pixel 9 as a compact smartphone with a smaller design, similar to the Apple iPhone 15 and Samsung Galaxy S24 5G. The report also claims the phone will have an adaptive touch feature that adjusts touchscreen sensitivity based on the environment.

The Pixel 9 Pro is likely to use the Google Tensor G4 chipset and offer 15W wireless charging. The smartphone will arrive with Android 15 out of the box with seven years of OS updates.
