Google Pixel 6 series might launch next month, however, no confirmation has come from the company. The lineup may include two phones this time around — Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Although there is confirmation that Google is developing its own chip for Pixel phones. A fresh leak reveals all the important information about the Google Pixel 6 Pro. In addition, a teaser via the long-considered-dead Nexus account moments after Apple’s iPhone 13 launch event for the Pixel series.

According to XDA Developers editor-in-chief, Mishaal Rahmaan sheds light on a bunch of details about the Google Pixel 6 Pro. This information comes from someone who is using the actual phone. The report says that the Pro variant will not support Active Edge. A marketing name for squeezable sides to trigger the Google Assistant. However, it will support Quick Tap. This is essentially a new feature that requires users to double-tap the rear of the handset to activate the voice assistant.
On the other hand, Google Pixel 6 Pro will reportedly support Battery Share, i.e., reverse wireless charging. This will allow you to place wireless charging compatible products like earphones and watches on the back of the phone for a quick top-up. There is also a feature namely, “Smooth Display”. It automatically shifts the refresh rate of the screen above 60Hz. In fact, the menu system specifically mentions 120Hz, suggesting the Google Pixel 6 Pro will have a 120Hz display.

Google Pixel 6 Pro Specifications – Expected
Meanwhile, other leaks suggest it is tipped to feature a display panel with a resolution of 1,440×3,120 pixels. Reports that it might come preinstalled with a digital car key application. It essentially will let users unlock their car with their smartphone using NFC or ultra-wideband support (UWB). For those unaware, UWB is a short-range wireless communication protocol that enables tracking the location of nearby objects.
From what we know, the series will have Google’s own custom processor, Tensor. It is also expected to feature an 8-core processor, alongside 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. In addition, it will have a 128GB storage option. Moreover, Google Pixel 6 Pro can pack a 5,000mAh battery.
In terms of camera, Google Pixel 6 Pro might feature a triple rear camera setup. It includes a 50-megapixel Samsung GN1 sensor, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 ultra-wide sensor, and another 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor. It can support 4x optical zoom. At the front, the Pixel 6 Pro may feature a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 sensor.

It is likely to feature an under-display fingerprint scanner. The report also says that the Google Pixel 6 Pro camera features may include baby mode and motion deblurring. The Pixel 6 Pro firmware may base on Linux kernel version 5.10.
