Google has launched a new privacy feature that allows users to delete their saved web activity and search history for the past 15 minutes. On iOS, the feature is accessible in the Google app, and Android devices will get it later this year. The feature was first revealed in May at Google I/O and is now available on iOS. This is important if you share your device with others and don’t want to manually wipe the history from the settings. If the feature is turned on, the Google app can also erase search activity after 3,18, or 36 months.

Google now Allow’s you to Delete Your Web Activity
In a recent blog post, Google announced that the Google app for iOS now includes a new privacy feature. This offers a ‘Delete last 15 minutes’ option to the app, allowing you to instantly delete your Web and app activity history for the past 15 minutes if you need to share your smartphone with someone else. When you touch on your profile in the Google app for iOS, you’ll see the option. Google also has an incognito mode for searching and an auto-delete feature, but this new feature simplifies things.

This feature is currently only accessible on iOS, but it will be available to Android users later this year. We were able to notice the options on Google app version 167.0.382489606.
Google lets you toggle on or off storing Web and app activity on Google sites and applications on both iOS and Android, for those who are unaware. If you enable this feature, you will be given three options for auto-delete: 3 months, 18 months, and 36 months. This means that every 3, 18, or 36 months, the search history will be deleted.

By default it’s 18 months, but you can edit it by going to the Google app, tapping on your profile icon, then Search history. You would see the Auto-delete feature here, where you can set the time frame. You can erase your Web and app activity manually at any time, regardless of whether or not the auto-delete feature is enabled.
