Android 12 is coming soon to your phones specifically the Pixel phones. According to XDA editor-in-chief Mishaal Rahman, Google plans to release the stable version of Android 12 on October 4, 2021. It means Google Pixel phones will be receiving the update on this date. But it also means the mark onset of the public rollout of the latest version of Android.

Now, this rollout seems a bit later than its typical schedule. As per the document shared in the report, Google will publish the source code for Android 12 on 4 October this year. It will release it on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) Gerrit. In addition, it may align with the release of the stable update for Pixel phones.
On the other hand, Google new range-topping phones without Android 12 will not look good. So it’s unlikely to officially launch the Pixel 6 before that date. We wouldn’t be surprised if the hardware only surfaced sometime later in October. However, we might have to wait for the update if we are not Pixel users. It takes weeks even months before manufacturers deploy the latest version of Android.

To recall, Android 12 showcased at I/O 2021 by Google in May this year, features a largely revamped interface. The whole design theme is significantly quirkier than Google’s previous industrial design theme. It also brings a new Privacy Dashboard to the table. In addition, it comes along with other features such as a marker that will light up whenever any app is using the phone’s mic or camera – a shot at enhancing security on Android devices.
