FunTouch OS 14 Released In India: Eligibility & Features

Vivo has released its latest FunTouch OS 14 update based on the new Android 14 in India. This update brings plenty of new features for Vivo and iQOO smartphones. It will soon start rolling out to eligible smartphones from both brands over the next few months. Here’s everything you need to know about the FunTouch OS 14 update.

FunTouch OS 14 Features

FunTouch OS 14 introduces a new Smooth Envision feature that optimizes memory management by reducing the processes running in the background. This allows the system to keep more apps running in the background and enhance performance. Furthermore, the RAM saver feature can add up to 600MB of RAM on devices with 8GB of RAM or more. There is also an App Retainer that can ensure whitelisted apps keep running in the background.

Another new feature is Motion Blur, which simulates motion blur in app opening and closing animations. Vivo claims it can improve the smoothness of 60Hz displays by 18.7 per cent for better transitions. There are also improvements to the small window feature that allows you to run up to 12 floating apps in the background.

You also get improved customization with the ability to customize the lock screen and a new monochrome theme based on the Material You design. It also brings new fonts, themes and styles for the lock screen.

FunTouch OS 14 has improved video editing capabilities, so you don’t need to use third-party apps. You can export video in original quality up to 4K at 60FPS. There are also 25 new filters and better thumbnails support.

Last but not least, the update adds a new Smart Mirroring feature that allows you to share your screen without revealing personal information in your notification bar. Moreover, you can now protect hidden photos with additional password verification for better security.

The FunTouch OS 14 beta will start rolling out in mid-October for the Vivo X90 Pro and the iQOO 11. The following Vivo phones will be eligible for the update:
