Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission on September 27, which he said: “Has the potential of bringing a revolutionary change in India’s health facilities”. As per the initiative, every Indian will now receive a digital health ID card. This will give them all of the government’s benefits and ensure that their health records are securely protected.
In terms of specifics, this new digital health ID will contain information about a person’s health. It will include information about every test, disease, doctor’s visit, diagnosis, and which drug is taken. It will also assist doctors in learning about a patient’s medical history prior to treating them.

Although the initiative is great, the outcome is not the same. The website has been down for hours just after the launch. This can be because of the huge traffic it is getting since millions of people are trying to register themselves. If you go to the official website, you will see a message something like this – “The site is down for maintenance right now. We will be up in no time. Please check back soon. We apologize for any inconvenience.” We hope the website gets back on track as soon as possible as many people are waiting to get their Health ID Card.

The digital ID card will contain information about a person’s health; such as any diseases they have, trips to the doctor, tests they’ve had done, diagnoses, and medications they’ve been prescribed. This also attempts to assist doctors in learning about a patient’s medical history prior to beginning treatment.
