YouTube is apparently adding a new feature to its Miniplayer that allows users to continue watching the videos on the Web from their phones and other devices. When viewers watch a video on YouTube on Android or iOS and then close it, they will be able to continue it by opening YouTube on the Web, thanks to this new feature.

The video will appear in the bottom-right corner of the YouTube website, with the caption “Continue watching” directly under the video title on the Miniplayer. In 2018, YouTube introduced the Miniplayer feature for all desktop users; which turns a video into a miniature window at the bottom of the screen while simultaneously browsing YouTube.
9to5Google was the earliest to report on the new YouTube feature. According to the report, YouTube’s Mini player allows viewers to continue watching videos on the Web from their smartphones and other devices. The little video player will have a play button that will allow the user to resume where they left off. The user can access the full video page by clicking anywhere within the floating window.

As per the report, the new feature will also work with YouTube for Android TV. Users must log in to the same Google Account in order to sync their content. This functionality has yet to be officially revealed by YouTube.
YouTube is also experimenting with a new feature that allows viewers to download videos to their desktop Web browser. This functionality is available to Premium users as an experimental feature until October 19. YouTube is likely to make it official soon.
