Sony has confirmed that there is a PS5 price hike in several international regions. In Europe, the UK, Japan, China, Australia, Canada, and Mexico, PS5 systems will cost more money. Moreover, the corporation claims that the negative currency trends affecting numerous industries and customers and high worldwide inflation rates are to blame for the PS5 price increase.

Thankfully, Sony has not yet raised the PS5’s pricing in India. Although, thanks to Microsoft, the prices for the Xbox Series XS, controllers, and headsets have increased nationwide. It is unknown if Sony would subsequently raise the PS5’s pricing in other areas.

However, Jim Ryan, president and chief executive officer of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said that:

“We are witnessing high worldwide inflation rates and unfavourable currency patterns, harming consumers and putting pressure on various businesses. SIE has made the tough choice to raise the recommended retail price (RRP) of the PlayStation 5 in several territories in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Asia-Pacific (APAC), Latin America (LATAM), and Canada as a result of current severe economic circumstances. In the US, there won’t be any price increases.”

Moreover, Sony has provided new suggested retail pricing for the PS5 for Europe, the UK, Japan, China, Australia, Canada, and Mexico.

In order for as many gamers as possible to enjoy everything that PS5 has to offer, Sony has also promised that it is striving to “improve the PS5 supply situation.” There are still not enough PS5 consoles in India, so customers must wait until the next monthly resupply.

The availability of Xbox Series X in the nation seems to worsen the issue. Hopefully, the PS5 and Xbox Series X inventories on the Indian market will improve soon. Also, everyone is hoping that we won’t see a PS5 price hike in India and that the supply situation will be quickly improved.
