What is the warning about?
Google Chrome promises security and users trust their passwords of social media accounts and even bank details with the browser. There are multiple exploitable loopholes according to the warning by Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN). Along with security vulnerabilities, there are bugs in the browser as well that expose these loopholes.

Who are at risk?
Google Chrome users who use the versions prior to the 98.0.4758.80 will be the most vulnerable. These versions have vulnerabilities that can expose security flaws and expose loopholes through arbitrary codes. According to TOI, CERT-IN has explained that “Use after free in Safe Browsing, Reader Mode, Web Search, Thumbnail Tab Strip, Screen Capture, Window Dialog, Payments, Extensions, Accessibility, and Cast; Heap buffer overflow in ANGLE; Inappropriate implementation in Full-Screen Mode, Scroll, Extensions Platform, and Pointer Lock; Type Confusion in V8; Policy bypass in COOP and Out of bounds memory access in V8.”

What is Google Chrome’s Fix?
The most popular browser in the world has glaring security issues is never a good thing. The Indian agency has classified these risks as “high” which is bad news. Google Chrome has already rolled out updates. According to Google, this update is to solve 27 issues. They might also restrict some of the functions if the fix for them hasn’t rolled out yet.
