This week, Apple rolled out the iOS 18.4 update, introducing several new features for Apple iPhone 16 series and Apple iPhone 15 Pro users. Following that, the first beta of iOS 18.5 has now been released. Expected to be a smaller update before the arrival of iOS 19, iOS 18.5 marks the next step in the iOS 18 series. So, here’s what you can look forward to in the iOS 18.5 beta.
Features Of iOS 18.5 Beta 1 Update
According to MacRumors, iOS 18.5 beta 1 introduces a few notable changes, starting with updates to the Mail app. When you tap the three-dot icon in the top-right corner, you’ll now have the option to toggle contact photos on or off. Additionally, a new setting allows users to disable the “Group by Sender” feature.

While these options are also present in iOS 18.4, they are hidden deeper within the Mail section of the Settings.
In addition to these updates, AppleCare and accessibility features are receiving improvements. A new banner under Settings > General > AppleCare & Warranty will clearly display AppleCare information. Users can now tap on a device in their list to view a dedicated AppleCare section with detailed coverage information. A “Manage Plan” option will also be available for those with an active AppleCare subscription.
What To Expect From The Bug Fixes?
iOS 18.5 also brings several bug fixes. Notably, Apple has resolved an issue where the Apple Vision Pro app would show a black screen after being downloaded from the App Store in iOS 18 beta 1. This bug has now been fixed. Additionally, there are other minor improvements, including updates to writing tools and StoreKit.
