The spectrum auction looks to be the only thing preventing these companies from entering the Indian market with 5G. The government has yet to set a date for the auctions, so we don’t know when 5G will be available in India. According to Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the 5G auction may take place in June. In any event, when it comes to private telecoms, things are about to become interesting. Not so much when it comes to BSNL, the government-owned telecom company. BSNL to Launch 5G Services in India
According to a new report from PTI, the company will launch 5G services in India in 2023. The company will concentrate on its 4G infrastructure in 2022. The company is rumoured to be investing in indigenous 5G infrastructure, similar to its 4G infrastructure. The business will offer 5G services in India over the 4G core, which means it will use 5G NSA technology to do so. However, in order for the company to do so, the country’s 4G infrastructure is required, which explains the delay.
