The quick commerce company Blinkit, known for delivering daily essentials, beauty products, and food across India, is now broadening its offerings to include a rapid ambulance service, promising doorstep arrival for patients in around 10 minutes.
Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa reveals in a social media post on X that the new initiative is set to launch on Thursday, starting in Gurugram. He further mentioned that users would have the option to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance directly through the Blinkit app.
Blinkit Ambulance: Services Offered
Albinder Dhindsa, the CEO, announced that every ambulance will be outfitted with crucial life-saving equipment. It will have oxygen cylinders, defibrillators, stretchers, monitors, as well as essential emergency medicines and injections.

Additionally, the ambulances will have a skilled paramedic, an assistant, and a driver. However, the Blinkit CEO chose not to disclose the cost of the service, emphasizing instead that “profit is not a goal.” He explained that the focus would be on running the service at a reasonable cost for customers while dedicating resources to effectively addressing this crucial issue for the long term.
Expansion Plans
Blinkit has set its sights on extending its presence to all major cities within the next two years. Interestingly, Blinkit Ambulance marks the second innovative service launched by Blinkit in just one week.
Previously, the CEO shared news about a substantial fleet expansion, stating, “These are fully electric vehicles tailored to manage large orders, such as electronics and party supplies. Currently operational in Delhi and Gurugram, with plans to roll this out in additional cities shortly.”
