If you receive a message with a link that claims to turn WhatsApp’s theme pink, DO NOT CLICK! It is a virus, and clicking on the link may allow cybercriminals to hack your phone. However, the messaging platform continues to face different types of attacks and hacks on its users. Moreover, if end up clicking this link, you might end up losing access to your account.

Cyber experts have warned users of the messaging application to refrain from clicking on any such link for turning WhatsApp Pink. Furthermore, it is masking itself as an official update from WhatsApp. In addition, a PTI report claims that several WhatsApp users have been sharing the link unknowingly.

Interestingly, the malicious WhatsApp Pink looks identical to the main application. This is making it difficult for users to distinguish. A few things like the Settings menu, however, look different. Regular WhatsApp users will know that the features mentioned here are not part of the main app. Anyhow, do not download any APK or mobile apps that bypass the official app stores such as Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

Additionally, users should not forward such things to their contacts as well. This link is currently being circulated among various WhatsApp groups. In case you come across such a WhatsApp Pink link, you should neither click on it nor forward it to your friends and family members.
