From the rumours and leaks of the last few months, we know that the iPhone SE 3 may launch sometime soon. On the other hand, leaks suggested we can expect it to launch early next year. Until now, we were not really sure of the upcoming iPhone SE 2020 successor’s name but now we do. This new Apple device will be launching as iPhone SE+ 5G. As we know already, this phone will launch with the awaited 5G connectivity but might retain the same display from the iPhone SE (2020).
Now, recently some sources hint that iPhone SE+ 5G launch will take place in the second half of April or early May, a market analyst predicts. Again, as many reports before suggests this smartphone will be having the same design language as its predecessor. However, one can also expect some performance enhancements, thanks to a new Apple silicon.

iPhone SE+ 5G: What We Know So Far
First of all, a new tweet by Ross Young, CEO of Display Market Intelligence firm Display Supply Chain Consultants suggests that the iPhone SE 3 will indeed launch as the iPhone SE+ 5G. He also tweeted to forecast the launch schedule of the phone. Additionally, Young claims that the display panel production for the new model will start this month. While the entire manufacturing of the phone is expected from March 2022.
Although this is what Ross Young says that the name could be but we have no official confirmation as of yet. Meanwhile, recent reports have suggested that the new iPhone SE+ 5G will still feature the same old iPhone 8-like design. The device is expected to look exactly like the current iPhone SE. This is featuring a similar 4.7-inch screen, thick bezels, Touch ID scanner and single rear camera. The only major upgrade we could expect is a new chip 5G-enabled chip.
Rumoured Specifications for iPhone SE 3
A report by research firm TrendForce also suggests that the new iPhone SE+ 5G could launch in the first quarter of 2022. This means it could likely debut at Apple’s Spring 2022 event. This launch date also aligns well with previous rumours around the phone’s launch. From the reports, it looks like the launch could see products like the new iPad Pro and Mac mini along with the phone.
Now, other than this, reports of the iPhone SE 3/ iPhone SE+ 5G design is still a topic of debate. Some say that it might have iPhone 8’s design language. Whereas, some claim that it will look like the iPhone XR – with a notched display and a single camera on the back. However, nothing is confirmed as of now on this range. Other features will be similar to the previous iPhone SE, such as TouchID, 3GB RAM, and a single rear camera.
