Apple iPhone Topped Top 10 Selling Smartphones in 2021

According to research, Apple’s iPhone will be the most popular smartphone in the world in 2021. The Apple iPhone 12, Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max, and Apple iPhone 13 were among the year’s best-selling smartphones. In the fourth quarter of 2021, Apple released the iPhone 13 series, which attracted consumers’ attention.

Counterpoint, a market research group, predicted that Apple would have the top five models in 2021. The best-selling model was the iPhone 12, followed by the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Then the iPhone 13, the iPhone 12 Pro, and the iPhone 11 in terms of unit volume sold. It is on the estimation that 41 per cent of Apple’s sales came from the top three models on the list.

Additionally, the iPhone SE (2020) and iPhone 13 Pro Max (2021) were among the world’s top ten best-selling smartphones in 2021. In addition to taking the top five spots. Apple’s iPhone 13 was also a big seller in the fourth quarter. It was followed by the iPhone 13 Pro Max and its smaller sibling.

The Samsung Galaxy A12 is the sixth best-selling smartphone, behind only Apple’s iPhone X.

According to Counterpoint, Samsung’s Galaxy A13 5G, which got launch in the United States in December, was likely to build on the popularity of the Galaxy A12. In addition, the Redmi 9A and Redmi 9 were there on the list this year. According to the corporation, both phones made up 22 per cent of the company’s overall sales.

As a whole, the top 10 best-selling smartphone models in 2021 made up 19 per cent of all smartphone units sold around the world that year. According to Counterpoint, this increased 3 per cent over the previous year’s 16 per cent contribution.

According to the corporation, more than 4,200 smartphone types are expected to be in use worldwide by 2021. Senior Analyst Karn Chauhan at Counterpoint believes that the rising YoY share of the top 10 models indicates a trend where companies concentrate on their top models and reduce their portfolios in certain situations.

He suggested that the mid-tier sector will see the quicker spread of essential features due to component shortages in entry-level models in 2021.
