Many years ago, Apple users accused the company of purposefully slowing down Apple iPhone 4s devices following an iOS 9 update in 2015. The Company has finally agreed to settle the six-year-long class action lawsuit by paying $15 to each affected iPhone 4s owner. A group of iPhone 4s users in New York and New Jersey filed the lawsuit in December 2015. According to the lawsuit, when users installed the iOS 9 update on their iPhone 4s devices, the phone’s performance slowed significantly.

The plaintiffs claimed that company falsely advertised the iPhone 4s’ compatibility with the iPhone 4s. The company advertised in its advertisement. It said that the new iOS 9 is faster and more responsive. This did not occur with the iPhone 4s. When the update was downloading, the phone’s performance suffered.
Apple To Pay $15 To iPhone 4s
“Plaintiffs filed the operative Complaint in this action collectively alleging. Claim said that the Class was harming when consumers downloaded iOS 9 onto their iPhone 4S devices following exposure to Apple’s allegedly false description of the new operating system.”
Plaintiffs claim that misrepresented that iOS 9 was compatible with the iPhone 4S. It would “improve or enhance performance” for customers who downloaded the software update. Instead, Plaintiffs contend that iOS 9 significantly slowed the performance of their iPhone 4S devices,” according to the lawsuit.

According to MacRumors, the company is to set aside $20 million to compensate iPhone 4S owners in New York and New Jersey who were accused of throttling the performance of their devices.
Users who believe they are eligible for the settlement must file a declaration. Stating “that, to the best of their knowledge, they downloaded iOS 9, or any version thereof, onto their iPhone 4S.
The iPhone 4S was experiencing a significant decline in performance. As a result, users are entitling to a payment of $15 per applicable device. They must also provide their name, email address, iPhone 4S serial number, and email address.
