Google has officially stated that Android 12 beta 2 is now available for Pixel phones. It includes a couple more Android 12 features that were discussed at Google I/O last month but were missing in the first beta. It does, however, have a few new features, such as a privacy dashboard and a new way of managing your internet connection.

Android 12 Beta 2 New Features
Android 12 features a new “Internet” button in Quick Settings, which replaces the old Wi-Fi button. When you tap it, a screen appears that allows you to switch between Wi-Fi networks while simultaneously displaying your current cellular connection (which you can also toggle). The objective, according to Google, is to make it easier for people to “switch across their Internet providers and solve network connectivity issues.”

Google’s new privacy dashboard is one of the new features in the second beta. The Privacy dashboard is a summary screen you can find under Settings > Privacy. It displays what information has been accessed recently and by which apps. It will display you a history of every time an app, for example, requested your location. This is the place where apps can explain why they want specific permissions.
Other new features available in the Android 12 Beta 2 are the addition of microphone and camera icons that show users if any application is using those. Along with that, there is a new Quick Setting toggle to disable app access to them. Apps will receive blank audio and camera feed if access is denied.

Android 12 Beta 2 Compatible Devices
To participate in the beta, you’ll need a compatible device, the same as before. Google Pixel 3, 3 XL, 3a, 3a XL, 4, 4 XL, 4a, 4a 5G, and 5 are now getting Android 12 Beta 2. Google is currently one release away from achieving platform stability in August with this release. Now would be a good time for developers to complete their compatibility testing and deliver compatible versions of their apps, SDKs, and libraries, according to the company.
