Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) has been launched in India on Wednesday, August 25. The new model replaces the original Echo Show 8, which was launched to the Indian region last year by Amazon. The Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) has a better camera than the previous model, which is a massive improvement. On the new Echo Show 8 version, Amazon has included an auto-framing feature that allows the device to automatically pan and zoom to modify the frame during video calls.

The Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) is priced at Rs. 13,999 in India. Amazon is offering the device at a discounted price of Rs. 11,499 for a limited time. Like the original Echo Show 8, the Echo Show 8 (2nd Generation) is available in black and white.
The Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) is available for purchase on Amazon.in, and consumers can add a smart lightbulb or a smart plug for TVs and chargers for an additional Rs. 100 or Rs. 599.

Specifications and Features
The Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) comes with the same 8-inch adaptive colour display with a resolution of 1,280×800 pixels as the first Echo Show 8. You’ll also get the same 2-inch neodymium stereo speakers as the previous generation, as well as the same passive radiator. The biggest difference between the Echo Show 8 (2nd Generation) and the previous-generation model is the 13-megapixel camera. The megapixel count on this camera is much higher than the 1-megapixel camera on the previous Echo Show 8. Like the Echo Show 10, the new camera sensor supports Amazon’s auto-framing functionality, which allows for automatic pan and zoom.
You can also use the Echo Show 8 (2nd Generation) as a digital frame in your room to display photos from Facebook. When not in use, the Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen)’s sensor may be closed with the inbuilt physical cover, and the microphone can be turned off with a press of a button.

Additionally, using the built-in camera on the Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen), you can remotely monitor your house and view live video footage on your smartphones or other Echo Show devices.
The Amazon Echo Show 8 (2nd Generation) has dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for connectivity. The device weighs 1.3kg and its dimensions are 200x135x99mm.
