Airtel introduced its 5th Generation services in India in October 2022, offering unlimited 5G data at the same rates as its existing 4G plans. However, by the second half of 2024, all the major Indian telecom operators were likely to phase out these unlimited 5G plans. Now that we are in the second half of 2024, this promise seems to fail as the company is not offering unlimited 5G data to many customers, despite prior promises for selected plans. Airtel 5G Unlimited Data Not Working
The company has promised that Airtel 5G data will be available to all postpaid users and prepaid customers with data plans priced at Rs 239 or higher.

However, it failed to provide this service to the selected plans and the users are not able to avail the Airtel unlimited 5G data. This is very disappointing for them and also questions the credibility of such companies for their statements. Customers complained that after their usual data got over, 5G data did not work and they had to spend extra money to recharge their data plans. There was no solution even after repeated complaints.
What Were The Terms And Conditions?
Airtel had put out some terms and conditions for its Airtel Unlimited 5G data service, which are as follows:
- Customers with 5G-enabled devices connected to the Plus network can now claim Unlimited 5G Data through their Thanks App.
- Prepaid customers with Unlimited packs starting at Rs 239 and above can activate this benefit. However, please note that Rs 455 and Rs 1799 packs are not eligible.
- All postpaid users can also claim this offer through the Airtel Thanks App.
- Airtel Unlimited 5G Data is provided on top of the existing data quota in your prepaid or postpaid plan.
- The offer is for personal use only. Airtel reserves the right to suspend or modify the offer in cases of commercial or fraudulent usage.
- Data sharing via mobile hotspots is not permitted under this plan.
- Airtel 5G Plus is available in select areas, and the data benefit applies only within 5G network coverage zones.
