PM Narendra Modi launched the 5G services today in Delhi at the India Mobile Congress (IMC). The event began at 10 am. According to sources, Bharati Airtel and Reliance Jio will start the 5G services today. The services will be at Varanasi and a village near Ahemdabad.
The other parts of India will probably get the 5G services before Diwali. Moreover, Delhi Airport is ready to serve the 5G services. The new network is ready to use very soon by travellers.

IMC 2022 Live Broadcast
The event will start at 10 am. It will begin with the speech of PM Modi. The announcements by the telecom providers were also delivered. Also, the event will be live broadcasted by Doordarshan and All India Radio. The other news channels will also cover the event. But the audience can directly stream it on their Youtube also.

New 5G Services Roll Out From Today
PM Modi also made a statement that ‘with 2G, 3G, and 4G, India was dependent on other countries, but with 5G, we are creating history by setting a global standard in technology and, in fact leading it, too’. He also said, ‘ this is a big opportunity and a big win for Digital India’.
As per the sources, Jio 5G will begin today in Ahmedabad. Whereas Airtel 5G will first step in Varanasi. But only a small portion of areas will get access to 5G in Ahmedabad and Varanasi.

This will only happen in the initial period. But the services will then spread across the cities. The other 13 cities besides Varanasi and Ahemdabad are- Bengaluru, Chennai, Chandigarh, and Mumbai. Also, Delhi, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Pune, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Hyderabad.
Though there has been no reveal regarding the 5G tariff plans. But Ashwini Vaishnav, Union Minister Of Electronics And Information Technology, said it would be comparable to the 4G tariff plans.
5G Services Tariff Plans
The 5G prices are similar to the 4G prices. But they will be known after the complete rollout in the country. Also, Jio and Airtel may offer the 5G but as a bundled service. It will only be for the premium users for now.
New Announcements By Jio and Airtel
As per the sources, Sunil Mittal has announced that 8 cities will get the Airtel 5G services from today. This announcement was delivered at the India Mobile Congress event.
Though the entire list is unknown, the first portion of cities includes – Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, and Bengaluru. Bharati’s CEO stated that ‘ they will cover pan-India by March 2024’. Airtel will offer wider coverage, and users can work with more devices with the use of the 4G network too.

Before this announcement, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, said that the ‘Jio 5G plan is to spread in every talukas and tehsil by December 2023’. He also said that Jio would be the only 5G service with zero dependencies on the 4G network.
Smartphone Brands Voice About 5G
Realme also stood saying that their 85per cent devices are 5G enabled. Also, the remaining will get equipped soon by October. Madhav Seth, the CEO, VP, Realme, and President of Realme India, said that with this new technology, they are ready to make the most of it and make it accessible to all users.
