Jio Vs Airtel Comparison: Shocking Internet Speeds In Delhi Metro

If you frequently travel on Delhi Metro, you must have noticed that the internet does not work well during peak hours and when the metro goes through underground tunnels. We tested both Jio and Airtel while travelling from Noida to Gurugram. Although this is not a scientific experiment, we tried to be as fair as we could have been. For this experiment, we chose Xiaomi 12 Pro, which carried Airtel’s sim, whereas iQOO 9 Pro carried Jio’s sim after doing half of the experiment, we switched the sims. Read to know more!

Jio Vs Airtel: Noida Sector 52 to Botanical Garden

Both the phones buffer a lot, but Jio took an edge as it was able to load the reels. Also, Twitter ran equally well on both the phones, but Airtel ran a bit faster as compared to Jio. Furthermore, when it comes to Reddit, Airtel throned the speed. However, at Botanical Garden, the networks of both of these sims collapsed.

The download speed was negligible in both of these sims, but Airtel had a fair enough upload speed as compared to Jio. Airtel took a major lead in playing the YouTube videos. Spotify ran well on both networks. When it comes to Amazon Prime, although Jio took 10 seconds to load, it loaded the video in 1080p as compared to the non-HD version loaded in Airtel. Furthermore, when it comes to downloading videos on Netflix, Jio performed decently, but Airtel took 5 minutes to download a 45 MB file.

Now, we switched the phones. And again, when we did the speed test, Jio did fairly well as compared to Airtel. Now our metro was going towards Hauz Khas, where the metro tunnel goes underground. Jio was way ahead of Airtel when it comes to playing a Reddit video. The ping was 111 in Jio, whereas Airtel had merely 28. When we again did all the experiments, Jio won in download speeds and Airtel in uploads. At Huda City Center as well, results were almost similar.

Verdict

There are fundamental differences between Airtel and Jio as Jio thrones with its speed till the network is there, but when there is congestion, and the network starts choking, Jio terribly fails. On the other hand, Airtel is consistent and reliable but has a lower average speed. However, if you are streaming or attending the meetings, then Airtel is good; otherwise, when it comes to downloading and watching videos, Jio takes the lead.
