In recent days, there are a number of leaks on the iPhone 12 launch. Recently, Apple with its Make in India initiative, manufactured iPhone 11 in India, at a plant located in Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, more rumors suggest that the company is looking to manufacture their newer model in Bengaluru. To support manufacturing in India, they are also investing huge sums which will help in creating more than 10,000 jobs for the country.
Mr.Dinesh Gundu Rao, ex-minister of Tamil Nadu, tweeted that the company is manufacturing iPhone 12 series from Narsapura, Karnataka which is near to the capital city, Bengaluru. Wistron is the company that manages the operations in Bengaluru based manufacturing facility.

iPhone 12 could cost lesser than 11?
Looking at the previous models, we see iPhone 11 was significantly cheaper than the iPhone XR in India. However, it remained costlier than the international markets in India. Chances are this might not be the case for the new series by the company.
If rumors are true, then the new series is likely pricing identically to the iPhone 11. Hence, the iPhone 12 is likely to be significantly cheaper without the massive import duties that made the iPhone 11 an expensive model.

On the other hand, the rumors point out that the new series will pack more improvements than the iPhone 11. This new series is likely to launch in October. If all the iPhones continue to manufacture in India, it is possible that the upcoming smartphones by the company will cost significantly cheaper.
Apple is right now manufacturing iPhone 7, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and the iPhone SE 2020 in India.
