Redmi Note 4 specifications

The Redmi Note 4 was launched in 2016 in India succeeding the Redmi Note 3. Talking about the specifications of the Redmi Note 4, the device features a 5.5 inches FHD+ IPS LCD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 Chipset.

The Redmi Note 4 was available in three storage variants with 2GB+32GB, 3GB+32GB, and 4GB+64GB. In the camera department, the device has a single 13-megapixel camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Other features include a micro-USB charging port, a 4100mAh battery, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The device supports Bluetooth 4.0 and has a dual 4G sim slot with an expansion slot.

That being said, here are some issues that you should keep in mind before expecting the resale value if you sell Xiaomi Redmi Note 4:

Issue 1: Outdated Specifications

Redmi Note 4 outdated specifications

The device is very old and the internal specifications are too much outdated for 2021 standards as well as the camera hardware and display standards are outdated too. Also, as per reports, Xiaomi MIUI tends to make old devices slow with time and the MIUI updates on the device have also stopped.

The Snapdragon 625 on the Redmi Note 4 is too old and not suitable for day-to-day tasks in 2021 as most of the apps require much more processing power. All the current devices in the market are much better and can’t even be compared with the Redmi Note 4.

Also, in this era of video conferencing, the Redmi Note 4 standards are obsolete and can’t be used on the current day because of the use of AI processing in video conferencing which the device can’t handle.

Issue 2: Outdated display and Cameras

All new mid-range Android devices come with powerful processors, a modern FHD+ 20:9 aspect ratio display with sizes starting from 6.4-6.8-inch. Even the camera setups are improved from a single camera setup to a Quad camera setup. The Redmi Note 4 can’t even capture proper AI portraits, which is a must in current times. Even Ultra-wide cameras are a must nowadays.

Issue 3: Outdated Software support and worst MIUI experience

Redmi Note 4 software experience

The software support of the Redmi Note 4 has also been stopped 3 years ago. The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat, whereas all current devices are running Android 11 and 12 is knocking the door. MIUI is also known for its lag and slowdown in old devices and we know that software plays a much bigger role in any smartphone.

This is the high time to sell the device before the price drops. If we check all the factors, the resale value of the Redmi Note 4 will more and more degrade over time this year. As well as more new devices are being announced by Realme and Xiaomi every week.
