Even after numerous postponements and cancellations in product launches announced by various smartphone makers, Huawei sub-brand Honor has officially launched its new smartphones Honor 30s & Honor Play 9A in China.
The Honor Play 9A is a budget smartphone and is offered in two variants, 4GB + 64GB and 4GB + 128GB. The former comes at a price tag of CNY 899 (roughly Rs. 9,500) while the 128GB version is priced at CNY 1,199 (roughly Rs. 12,700). The device is presently on pre-sale till April 6 and Shipping will start from April 7. Unfortunately, the company hasn’t made any official statement on Honor Play 9A’s availability in international markets, including India.

Honor Play 9A Specifications
The device gets a decent spec-sheet which includes a 6.3-inch (1600×720) HD+ display along with a water-drop notch housing the selfie camera. The device gets powered by 2.3GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P35 SoC clubbed with 4GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage. You also get a dedicated microSD card slot which can expand storage up to 512GB. The Play 9A runs on Android 10-based Magic UI 3.0.1.
Optics include a decent dual-camera setup at the back with a 13MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. At the front, there is an 8MP snapper for selfies and video chats. The device gets an old-school rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security along with face-unlock as an alternative.
The device gets an impressive 5,000mAh battery and supports 10W charging via the micro-USB port. Along with Honor Play 9A, the company also introduced its mid-range Honor 30S smartphone which comes at a price starting CNY 2,399 (roughly Rs. 25,500). The Honor 30S is Honor’s first 5G enabled smartphone and gets powered by the latest Kirin 820 5G chipset that brings dual-mode 5G support to the table.
