Infinix Note 11 Design and Build

The Infinix Note 11 features a stunning look with a shiny back panel and a triple camera bulge in the top-left corner. The phone has rounded corners and a flat back and front panel, trying to make it look more like an iPhone 12 or 13. With a thickness of 7.9 mm, it is the thinnest device in the segment. The back panel is made of high-quality plastic, however, it could be mistaken for a glass back at first glance. The one that arrived at our doorstep is Glacier Green, although the device is also available in Celestial Snow and Graphite Black.

Infinix Note 11 sports a power button with a fingerprint reader integrated on the right side, as well as volume rocker controls for controlling volume and media playlist. A SIM tray is located on the left side, while a USB Type-C port, a primary microphone, speaker grills, and a 3.5mm audio jack are located on the bottom. The handset features a waterdrop notch on the front panel, with the earpiece sitting just above it. That’s all there is to the design of the recently released Infinix Note 11, and we’re impressed with the device’s design and look.

Infinix Note 11 Display

Infinix Note 11 appears to come with a 6.70-inches FHD+ AMOLED display. It has a touch sampling rate of 180 Hz and a peak brightness of 750. Plastic makes up the frame and backside, while Corning Gorilla Glass 3 shields the front. The phone’s screen to body ratio is 92 per cent which is pretty good.

Although the device has an FHD+ panel, it does not support Widevine L1, which means you won’t be able to stream FHD+ content on OTT apps. In summary, all OTT apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, Hotstar, and others only support 480p on the smartphone which is a little disappointing.

The good news is that the Infinix Note 11 features an AMOLED display, and Infinix has used a high-quality panel in this case, so you won’t have any issues playing games or enjoying YouTube videos. The only disadvantage I feel is the lack of Widevine L1 support.

So, if you’re someone who likes movies and TV episodes on Netflix and Prime Video, you’ll be disappointed because everything is in low resolution. By the way, the viewing angles are good and so is the brightness, thus using the smartphone outside won’t be a problem.

Infinix Note 11 Performance

Infinix Note 11 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G88 processor from Infinix. It’s a 12-nanometer processor with two Cortex A75 performance cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and six Cortex A55 efficiency cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. It has a similar layout to the Helio G85, but with some improvements in multimedia, connectivity, and imaging.

It has a Mali-G52 graphics processor, 4GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage. A microSD card with a capacity of up to 2TB can be used to expand the storage.

I didn’t face any problems with the phone during my time with Infinix Note 11. The MediaTek processor performs well and ensures that the gaming experience is not compromised even when the device’s battery is low. The company has featured a XArena mode that allows you to control CPU, GPU, Network, and Memory use and performance when playing games, as well as modify game graphics and much more.

There were no issues during half an hour of Freefire gaming on the smartphone. At low graphics, you’ll be able to play graphic intensive games like BGMI and even COD Mobile. In terms of app loading and returning to the home screen, it did feel a little sluggish.
Overall, you won’t have any troubles using the device in day to day life. It can handle your long gaming sessions, usual social media browsing and content consumption with ease.

Infinix Note 11 Software

The software on Infinix Note 11 is now the company’s own XOS software, which is based on Android 11. This is one of those Android skins that deviates from the stock AOSP UI. Infinix’s user interface has been considerably improved. You would not have the chance to complain about the UI on the Infinix Note 11 smartphone at this moment. On the smartphone, there are many fantastic features such as Do Not Disturb, Live Transcribe, Screen Cost, Screen Record, and Eye Care. Face unlock, fingerprint sensor, and pin lock are just a few of the phone’s security features.

It features a one-handed mode, Game mode, Floating Window, Peek proof, WhatsApp mode, Voice Changer, Smart Panel, and a quick access shelf with shortcuts to applications, widgets, and other settings. Some of them are very helpful, while others are just for extras. It also has clumsy animations and confusing menus, which I can live with. However, I find it difficult to accept the bloat and ads that accompany it.

Infinix Note 11 Cameras

Infinix Note 11 features a 50-megapixel primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 2MP AI sensor, as well as a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear cameras can record videos at 1440p@30fps, but the front cameras can only record at 1080p@30fps.

I am not expecting much from the camera section; this is an Rs. 11,999 smartphone, so expect average results. The photographs look nice in daylight or under ideal lighting conditions indoors. The 50MP mode captures sharper pictures. The shutter and focus times could have been a little faster. In Super Night Mode, nighttime shots are much more detailed and exposed better. It’s also quite quick to process the images, which is very convenient. Edge detection and background blurring are both passable with the 2MP depth sensor.

To be honest, those 2MP + 2MP sensors are only there for show; they aren’t very useful. Super Night mode, Portrait mode, Beauty mode, Short Video mode, full 50MP mode, HDR, Google Lens integration, QR Code scanner, and more features are available in the camera app.

The front-facing 16-megapixel camera sensor performs well, and the selfie camera impresses us considerably. However, the portrait images taken with the front camera have shortcomings. The videos are very choppy, and there is a significant issue with dynamic range. It tries to overexpose the video at times, and at other times, it simply dims the brightness.

Yes, Infinix needs to improve its camera performance. You might argue that this is a 12k smartphone, however, the same issue exists on the Infinix Note 11s, which costs 14k.

Overall, the Infinix Note 11’s cameras are decent, and they could be better, but that depends on the company, and I doubt if they will try to improve it. If you don’t mind having mediocre cameras and still want a good smartphone, the Infinix Note 11 is a good option; otherwise, there are better camera phones in the same price range.

Infinix Note 11 Battery

The newly launched Infinix Note 11 has a large 5000mAh battery that keeps the phone running even after long periods of heavy use. The 5,000mAh battery is powerful enough to last a whole day without needing to be recharged. With a Type C charger, the device can fast-charge at a speed of 33W. During our testing, we mostly used the smartphone for gaming, and we were able to get more than 6 hours of battery life while playing for long periods of time. You’ll need to charge the gadget twice if you play games for five to six hours, but if you’re a casual user, the device can last for more than a day, as it did in my case. It takes around an hour to fully charge the phone from 0% to 100%. Overall, the device’s battery performance is remarkable, and I liked it.

Infinix Note 11 Audio, Connectivity, Biometrics

The Infinix Note 11 comes with a pair of stereo speakers. Sound from the earpiece is boosted by the bottom-ported speaker. In terms of volume and general quality, the output is decent. The headphone jack is always available, and it will be enough for content consumption and phone calls.
Aside from that, the Infinix Note 11 offers dual 4G SIMs with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. The WiFi and Bluetooth connections were both fine. In addition, there’s GPS (with A-GPS) and FM Radio, both of which work properly.
This phone has a multi-functional fingerprint sensor on the side that allows you to securely access your smartphone with just a tap.

Verdict

Infinix Note 11 is a pretty competitive phone for the asking price of Rs. 11,999. It has a stylish design that is slimmer and lighter than other phones in the same category. Not only that, but the phone’s beautiful FHD+ AMOLED display, great sounding stereo speaker, big 5000mAh battery with a quick 33W charger, and an efficient Helio G88 chipset make it an appealing smartphone. The general UI, on the other hand, has various hitches and slowdowns, which could be caused by the proprietary XOS software.
So, there are some upsides and downsides. Overall, the pros outweigh the cons, making the phone an excellent value for money under Rs. 12000.
