WhatsApp’s New High Resolution Images Feature
  • WhatsApp beta testers have begun receiving the ability to share a more significant number of image files at once in a chat. The Meta-owned messaging service has also been spotted working on an update that will allow high-quality image sharing over conversations and photos that will retain their original quality. According to a report, the company was also working on a similar update for its Android and iOS apps. It is now reportedly working on the same for its desktop version.

According to feature tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp beta version 23.3.0.75 for iOS will allow some beta testers to share up to 100 media files simultaneously. Previously, users could transfer up to 30 media files in a chat.

The Big file-sharing feature is now available for some WhatsApp beta testers, and the platform expects to make it available to all users soon. According to the post, some users may gain this ability after upgrading to version 23.3.0.73 or 23.3.0.74.

WhatsApp’s New High Resolution Images Feature

WhatsApp is also trying to make it possible for users to share photographs “in their original quality” through the desktop app. According to earlier reports, the corporation was developing the same functionality for its iOS and Android apps.

    Images On WhatsApp

Currently, WhatsApp compresses images sent in chats to reduce storage and bandwidth usage. Images sent via WhatsApp become blurry and lack detail. People prefer to send photographs in document format to preserve the original quality. However, the format does not offer a preview.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature to transfer photographs without any compression or loss of quality is still being process and is not yet accessible for testing. This is in contrast to the capacity to send 100 images at once. But the post included a sneak peek of the feature above. There is no indication of whether or not the feature will be in the stable release.
