WhatsApp New Features To Have Multi-Device Support?

The latest report by WABetaInfo reveals that the beta version 2.21.1.1 of WhatsApp contains an option where users can choose to link their accounts on multiple devices at the same time. In addition, it will also work without an active internet connection on the main device.

According to the screenshots of the beta, it suggests after selecting the WhatsApp Web option, if users would like to ‘Link’ their device. Apart from your phone, it can be connected on the web, Portal, and desktop. One of the screenshots also informs users that up to four devices can be connected at once. Moreover, there is a tab that urges users to join WhatsApp Beta. So, they do not have to connect to their main device for use.

Whereas, it is a possibility that a public preview may never come to fruition. True multi-device support would mean that you could message from any linked device without your “main” device requiring an internet connection. As of now, the only way to achieve anything remotely similar is to use WhatsApp Web. However, this requires an active connection to your main device. In addition, it also requires a constant data connection.

On the other hand, there are various under-development features. According to WhatsApp, soon users will be able to mute, archive, and delete chats and messages from a companion device.
