However, since this is the age of “remakes”, CD Projekt RED seems to be following the trend. With games like Alan Wake and GTA San Andreas getting enhanced editions, why would The Witcher 3 hold back? CD Projekt RED is in fact planning on releasing the next-gen update as early as Q4 of 2022 itself. They took to their official Twitter handle to reveal this.

The Witcher 3 Next-Gen: What More?
CD Projekt RED revealed the release date of the next-gen version as a celebration post of the game’s 7th anniversary. The post read, “Let’s make this 7th anniversary even better, shall we? We’re delighted to share that the Next Gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is planned to release in Q4 2022. See you on the Path, witchers!”
CDPR has actually had a tough time dealing with the failure of Cyberpunk 2077. However, The Witcher 3 next-gen is still one of the most anticipated games of 2022. It will be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X in Q4, 2022. The good news is that the game will arrive as a free update for players who already own PC, PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
