    Expected Launch
  • The Mi Mix 4 is expected to arrive with an under-display camera that will be placed beneath the screen and fully hidden from naked eyes. For a long time, Xiaomi has been developing its own under-display camera technology. It has yet to be seen on a commercial device, though. In addition to the smart under-display camera, we also expect the Mi Mix 4 to include a secondary display at the back, beside the rear cameras, similar to the Mi 11 Ultra.

Xiaomi’s plans to use the fully invisible under-display camera on the Mi Mix 4 have been reported by a tipster who goes by the Twitter handle Ice Universe. The traces of the next Mi phone’s under-display selfie camera, according to the source, will not be visible to the naked eye.

Xiaomi was one of the first companies to develop technology for an under-display camera. In 2019, it was found filing patents for dual under-display selfie cameras. The company also unveiled its third-generation under-display camera technology last year, which we were expecting to be ready for mass production this year.

HoiINDI, another Twitter tipper, has shared some renders of the Mi Mix 4. The renders imply a dedicated display at the rear of the device. The display appears to be next to the camera setup on the back. The Mi 11 Ultra, for example, has a 1.1-inch OLED display on the right side of the back camera module. The Mi Mix 4’s secondary display, on the other hand, appears to be larger than the Mi 11 Ultra.

    Expected Launch

The Mi Mix 4 launch was in the reports since February, though Xiaomi has yet to provide a specific release date. The rumors claim that the next Mi Mix device will launch in August, along with MIUI 13. In October 2018, Xiaomi launched Mi Mix 3, followed by the Mi Mix 3 5G in February 2019.
