Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is reportedly going to launch a new ticket booking feature for easy and fast online ticket booking. IRCTC’s upcoming voice-based e-ticketing feature will make the process of booking tickets reserved online easier and faster.
According to reports, IRCTC is currently testing the feature on its ‘Ask Disha’ artificial intelligence (AI) platform. The Disha platform’s latest feature “Ask Digital Interaction for Help Anytime” is currently on trial. This will enable customers to use voice commands throughout the online ticket booking process.

IRCTC voice-based e-ticketing system
A report by Times Now reveals that IRCTC will introduce a voice-based e-ticketing feature to help passengers book tickets quicker and easier. How will this happen? Well, IRCTC is currently testing an AI platform named ‘Ask DISHA 2.0’ which will help customers use voice commands during the entire online ticket booking process.

The first phase of the trial is said to be successful. IRCTC is expected to launch the feature soon after conducting a few more phases of testing. Reports claim that IRCTC may launch an AI-powered voice-based ticket booking feature on Ask Disha online ticket booking platform within the next three months.
A special program designed by IRCTC to answer passenger queries for those who do not know the direction. The program is available on the official website of IRCTC. IRCTC developed the Ask Disha platform with the help of a Bengaluru-based startup called CoRover Pvt. Ltd. In October 2018, IRCTC launched its AI-based ticket-booking platform for users.

How to use this feature on Ask Disha?
Currently, Ask Disha allows customers to book tickets and seek assistance for other services through an OTP verification log-in. Users can use the feature without needing to log in with their IRCTC UserID and password. The AI-powered e-ticketing feature is also expected to improve IRCTC’s backend infrastructure. With this feature, IRCTC’s daily online ticket booking capabilities will also enhance.
Seamless Payment Getaways Also Launched
Currently, this AI-based platform helps customer to book tickets without logging in to the IRCTC website with a User ID and password. It’s just a simple OTP verification log-in. This will undoubtedly be a game changer for customers. Earlier, IRCTC partnered with Easebuzz, a payment platform to secure payment services and make them seamless.
