  • After seperating from Huawei, Honor has come out as an independent brand. Now, this move lets Honor to launch devices outside China with Google’s Mobile Services. Earlier, it confirmed that it will launch the Honor 50 series in international markets. The company has finally now launched two Honor 50 series devices internationally, and they come with Google Mobile Services (GMS).

    Honor 50, Honor 50 Lite: Prices and Availability

    It has launched in global markets in two variants — with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage at EUR 529 (approx. Rs. 46,000). Whereas, for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage at EUR 599 (approx. Rs. 52,000). Moreover, it will be up for preorders until November 3, 2021. The sales begin November 4, 2021.

    Early buyers will also get the Honor Earbuds 2 Lite true wireless earphones free with the smartphone. Meanwhile, Honor 50 Lite has only one variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It costs EUR 299 (approx. Rs. 26,000). The sales of this smartphone begins November 18, 2021.

    Honor 50 Series: Specifications

    It sports a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. This also comes with a 2,340×1,080 pixels resolution, 300Hz touch sampling rate, and a 1.07 billion colours. Honor 50 also comes with DCI-P3 wide colour gamut. There is an in-display fingerprint sensor for security and a USB Type-C audio.

    Under the hood, Honor 50 powers on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G SoC inside, along with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

    In terms of optics, it houses a quad rear camera setup with 108-megapixel, 8-megapixel ultra-wide and two 2-megapixel units for depth assistance and macro shots. Up front, a drill hole slot features a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. The smartphone runs on MagicUI 4.2 based on Android 11.

    Furthermore, Honor 50 packs a 4,300mAh battery with 66W SuperCharge fast charging support. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfers.

    Meanwhile, the Lite variant likely powers on the Snapdragon 662 SoC, along with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. Its’ a 4G phone unlike its other sibling. It features a 6.67-inch full HD+ LCD display with 120Hz refresh rate. There is also a drill hole slot featuring a 16-megapixel front camera on it. To the rear, the quad camera setup features a similar configuration, but replaces the 108-megapixel unit with a 64-megapixel. Other features such as in-display fingerprint sensor, as well as battery specs, remain the same as the Honor 50.
