Reason Behind Pavel Durov’s Arresting?
Telegram CEO Pavel Durov was arrested in France on August 24. The Paris prosecutor’s office announced on August 26. So, the investigation into Durov includes allegations of illegal trading, child pornography, fraud and failure to provide information to authorities. In response, Telegram reiterated its position: “It is absurd to claim that the platform or its owners are responsible for the misuse of their platform.”

The arrest came after Durov failed to regulate criminal activity on the platform. Which includes the distribution of child sexual abuse material. Moreover, the case drew global attention to the challenges Telegram poses to law enforcement and digital content moderation.
After this, speculation is high that telegrams are going to be banned in France and other countries. Telegram was founded by Pavel and Nikolai Durov in 2013. The platform currently has 950 million users, up from 550 million in 2022.
